Flights
We flew from Bristol to Rovaniemi in Finland in late November 2025. To allow us to achieve a 1-night trip departing early on a Friday and returning late on Saturday night (minimising time off school) we flew outbound with Easyjet and inbound with Ryanair. We used Skyscanner to find the cheapest available routes.

Hire Car
It is easy to drive a hire car in Rovaniemi and all major attractions are located within a short drive of the Airport. It is 5 minutes to Santa Claus Village and Santa Park and 10 minutes to the town centre. We’ve found the roads to be well maintained even when there has been significant snow. It is by far the easiest way to get around, especially with children in tow.
👉 Top Tip: Check which car hire company the airline you are flying with uses as standard and AVOID booking with this company as there will likely be LONG queues and wait time to collect you car from this company. For example if flying wiht Easyjet, avoid Enterprise car rental or associated companies and chose another company. You’ll thank me later - we were caught out by this mistake.

Accommodation
Having visited Lapland twice, we have discovered that there is accommodation to suit nearly every budget. During this one night trip, we stayed at a stunning 2 bedroom Apartment - modern, clean and a short drive from key attractions.
